Spanish for Beginners (E2 Speaking & Listening)

Level of study: Beginners/Entry Level 2 (equivalent to previous year 1 course)

This 10 week (20 hour) course is suitable for complete beginners or for those with very slight knowledge of the language and for those who would like to develop an understanding and use of basic words and phrases in familiar situations. To enable learners to take part in simple interactions, applying the basic rules of pronunciation and employing appropriate and commonly used conventions.

Assessment will be focused on Speaking & Listening skills, however all four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening will be covered in this course.

This course is available in the Spring term only.

Those learners who have not completed the Spanish for Beginners (E2 Reading & Writing) 10 week course will have the opportunity to enrol on this course and complete the qualification in the Summer term.

Spanish for Beginners (E2 Reading & Writing)

Assessment will be focused on Reading & Writing skills, however all four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening will be covered in this course.

Spanish Stage 1

Level of study: Level 1

Qualification Aim: ABC accreditation Level 1 Speaking and Listening

This 30 week (60 hour) course is suitable for learners who have a basic understanding and knowledge of the language and for those who would like to consolidate the essential skills and knowledge of the language and/or have successfully completed a beginners or similar introductory course.

Assessment will be focused on Speaking & Listening skills, however all four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening will be covered in this course.

If you completed a Year 1 Spanish course last year (2010-2011) you may enrol on this course.

This 10 week (20 hour) course is suitable for learners who have a sound grasp of the essentials of the language and who want to develop more complex language skills and/or have successfully completed a previous Year 2 course or have equivalent knowledge and experience of the language.
